I came across the concept of earthing/grounding a few months ago and have been having some pretty amazing results both in the office and at home. Earthing is the idea that we evolved barefoot and that sleeping on the ground regularly exposed us to all the free electrons that occur naturally on the surface of the earth. In the west, we typically no longer go barefoot and we certainly don't sleep on the bare ground any more. This insulation from the earth's surface means that we are chronically cut off from these free electrons that are being found to have some profound natural healing properties. There is peer reviewed research out that has found sleeping on a grounding sheet or spending time barefoot outside every day dramatically reduced the cortisol levels in the female subjects who agreed to participate in the experiment.
